Spring clean your life

Spring is finally here!
Sure, August was mostly warm, but it’s official – and better yet, the days are getting longer! Which technically means there’s more time to get stuff done. The change in season also makes good cause to start new things.
We’re warming up to a couple of ideas, actually, and think you’ll benefit from them. Studies show that landmarks are good starts to effect change. Whether it’s getting a trim in anticipation of December, making sure your business is in order, or simply stunning up the sidewalk, it’s time to spring into action.
Your spring spirit needs to suit up.
Not literally. It’s too hot. But some lovely spring fashion will definitely do. Sure, you’re thinking, “The economy really isn’t so good now, maybe I don’t need a new wardrobe this season.” Nonsense. Yes, the economy is stuck like a malfunctioning zip, but that’s no reason to avoid looking your best. For one thing, a fresh look pays dividends – better chance of standing out from the crowd, better opportunity to impress with your charm.
Precisely because times are tough is when to go all out, and be your best you. Especially when others are cutting back timidly.
Nothing glows hotter than a new look. And, fortunately, our clothing department stores – like, Edgars, Miladys, Lacoste, Giovane Gentile, and others – are all about the latest fashion from the most cutting-edge design houses.
Then couple that with one other ingredient. Actually, a series of ingredients: a new fragrance, to waft a new personal presence that allures those around you. Our sense of smell, when delighted, can elicit the most positive attention on the one who gifted it to us.
Find your pulsating new powerful scent at Red Square, and leave a fragrance that captivates hearts to follow you wherever you go.
Get organised for the war on unproductivity.
No one can blame you for maybe hitting a slump at this time of year. December is around the corner, and you may be feeling the burn of the run since the last one. Plus, the change in temp comes with a slow-down in mental facilities. We tend to be brighter when it’s colder.
Never fear! We’re throwing out the clutter. All those notebooks you’ve made with out-of-date information and you’re on the last 20 pages? Just chuck it out. That annoyingly cheap pen the company jealously guards from the supply cupboard and only hands out grudgingly? You don’t need it! Pretend it is a dart and throw at an annoying co-worker’s head. (We’re kidding. Please don’t do this.)
You need stationary that inspires. Stationary that feels fresh or feels comfortable. Psychologically, we feel better equipped to deal with our day-to-day tasks when we have flashier, more efficient, equipment. So a new set of notebooks and definitely a good pen – one with those comfortable rubber grips for instance. You don’t need the company’s lacklustre stationary. Get your own at CNA.
While you’re at it, maybe it’s time to upgrade that computer too. Your laptop is sluggish and slow because it belongs in a retirement home.
When you want things done, you need a young enthusiastic hotshot. Speak to Incredible Connection about their business laptop specials, the snappy quick-quick response will have you falling in love with your job again.
Getting things done. While the others are lagging. That’s how you roll. (And how you get promoted.)
The smart way to get hot.
There’s no way to ease into this. If your calorie counting broke the calculator, you’re not going to enjoy summer. It’s going to be a hot one, and everybody will be wearing skirts and shirts, and showing some skin. Unless you’re a lawyer or an accountant. In which case, your suit will be an Iron Maiden. It’s now or never. You’ve got to step into a gym, like our awesome Planet Fitness, where there are plenty gurus waiting to help give you the best exercise advice.
But heavy lifting and hectic cardio stop a lot of people, not because they’re lazy, but because it can be really boring. Combined with straining and endurance taxing. Not a good combo. Worse than a Big Mac supersized attack on your waistline. It keeps people from either starting, or maintaining, a healthy gym habit.
The answer? Well, you know people listen to headphones while exercising. But it doesn’t have to be music. Once you’ve selected an awesome pair of buds from a store like Bose (it’s conveniently at the mall), pair it to your phone and play something stimulating. You could learn about self-help techniques to not just climb the corporate ladder, but take the elevator – through empowering podcasts. Or you could buy a romantic adventure audio book, and be swept away by dashing heroics as you pound the exercise bike pedals.
There’s history lessons from great lecturers who’ll recount the bang-flash events of your grandparents or greater were involved in – like World War II or the Struggle.
All Android and iOS phones have access to some fantastic content you can be enraptured by while curling those dumbbells.
The end result? You’re not just looking fab, but you’re full of empowering knowledge to captivate almost anyone in conversation too.
More power to you.
